Cars in German Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police mentioned they were notified by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to police.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Police say they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then discovered many other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report early analysis show the liquid was likely human blood.

"There is still no lead as to its source; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.

Local authorities stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the public for details.

A senior representative stated the vandalism made him stunned and had to be solved quickly.

"This act affects the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman targeting people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
